Thank you for using this Discord bot (“the Bot”). Your privacy is important. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your choices regarding your data.

## 1. Information Collected

- **User Messages & Commands:**  
  When you interact with the Bot, your messages, commands, and any data you provide are collected for the purpose of generating responses and providing Bot functionality.

- **Discord User Data:**  
  The Bot may access your Discord username, user ID, nickname, and avatar for display and personalization purposes.

- **Server Data:**  
  The Bot may access server, channel, and role information to function correctly and enforce permissions.

- **Third-Party Services:**  
  The Bot sends your prompts and relevant context to OpenAI’s API (ChatGPT, DALL·E) for processing. OpenAI may temporarily store and process this data in accordance with their [Privacy Policy](https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy).

## 2. How Your Data Is Used

- To generate responses to your commands and messages.
- To personalize interactions (e.g., addressing you by nickname).
- To enforce server permissions and roles (e.g., the `funbot` role).
- For debugging, analytics, and improving the Bot (e.g., token usage statistics).

## 3. Data Storage & Retention

- **No Long-Term Storage:**  
  The Bot does not permanently store your messages, commands, or personal data. Some logs (such as error logs or usage statistics) may be temporarily kept for debugging and maintenance, but are not shared or sold.

  Data sent to OpenAI is subject to their retention and privacy policies.

- **With Discord:**  
  The Bot operates within Discord and is subject to Discord’s own privacy and data handling policies.

- **With OpenAI:**

- **No Sale or Marketing:**  
  Your data is never sold, rented, or used for marketing purposes.

- The Bot owner takes reasonable steps to secure the Bot and its environment.
- However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Use the Bot at your own risk.

- **No Expectation of Privacy:**  
  All commands and responses are visible to all members of the Discord channel where they are used.
- **Opt-Out:**  
  If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the Bot.

This policy may be updated at any time. Continued use of the Bot constitutes acceptance of any changes.

## Conversation Memory

If you use the `!chat` command, your conversation history ("memory") will be stored for up to 7 days to enable multi-turn conversations. After 7 days, both the Discord thread and all related memory data will be permanently deleted.
